If the 49'rs said today what they've said all year- " Kapernick isn't fully recovered enough from his surgery to play"
Then why did they have to renew his $16 million.?
If he couldn't play due to non football injuries ( as if he had a car accident while DUI ) they would have every right to refuse to renew under the old terms.
And remember it were not team doctors, but instead his own , who did the 3 surgeries.

What you're asking can be answered by stating the obvious: that organization is in total confused disarray about him and everything else right now.
I wish it was that simple. They have many lawyers working for them.
Let's see, should we spend or not spend $16.000.000 on a guy we don't want?
Oops- he's not healthy enough to play? That's our out !
WE ARE SAVED.
Cut that JackAss! He disrespects the Flag and this country.. He's not worth Shit.
Kap was once so good they got ride of Smith.
Harbaugh was excellent (44-19).
4 guys retired that could have continued to play,
Coach Chip is Chump.
It goes on.
Shit management and ego problems- Yes
Kap was once good. They should have left Alex Smith at QB... Harbaugh put Kap in when Smith got a concussion and that was it for Smith! Fucked up Coach Mangagement.... Get Rid of Jed York
Yes I agree = should have kept Smith and groomed Kap.
Should have kept the roster and dumped all management.
So then now you would have 2 quality quarterbacks, a coach who's on top, 4 guys who would have stayed and not retired, and a Superbowl to worry about.
