Hey.  Curious about the CIM definition.   During bbbj there is the advance leakage.  Wondering if providers are any more or less concerned re bbbj vs CIM?

BFD! There's another name that the CDC goes by it's called "Big Brother". Why would anyone trust or care about government propaganda? If the gov has its way everybody will have sex with a wet suit on. Save a lot of money for the gov if there is zero infection zero disease to deal with.

The only real scary STD is AID. Pretty much everything else is treatable. Read again the afore-mentioned link. What's the worse that can happen from chlamydia, gonorrhea and secondary syphilis. Nothing that can be construed as painful, horrible certain death like AID used to be (not anymore either). And that is assuming the worst case when people that are infected goes WITHOUT treatment. In the vast majority of cases these diseases are easily treated.

Just more scare-mongering! Totally worthless bringing up these gov propaganda because nobody gives a shit and change their minds what they always do.

ok let me restate this as nonpolitical as I can

This article is not creditable when it quotes people saying president Trump budget cuts that haven't even gone into effect for 2018 were a reason for an increase in std infections from more than a year before he was president.

whatever factual information that might actually be true is tainted by partisan intellectual dishonesty by those reporting on the story.

further it would be nice to have a news outlet that the public could trust to tell us the truth and not the truth told as a means to promote their ideology.

If that isn't god enough for you, maybe you should just delete the original link which is in itself political and therefore impossible to reply too without being political.

Pretty much everything else is treatable.

Not only are they treatable a person could have a STD infection and not know it or over looked symptom then at some point develop an unrelated infection, be prescribed antibiotics to clear that infection and clear the STD infection as well...killing two birds with one stone so to speak....

"Pretty much everything else is treatable."

This article isn't all wrong.  It's only treatable if you know about it.   If you hobby, you should get tested every once in awhile.  To think you can get by on cranberry juice is stupid.

Everything is treatable isn't the best practice. In fact anything that starts with an H is not curable... HIV, HSV, HPV...

If you don't know you have Syphilis you can die like Al Capone did.

I get tested every 6 months

Cranberry juice is for prevention of UTI. Who said anything about relying on it for everything else? of course at first symptom of any STD you need to go see a doctor for treatment. To read and not understand the point is truly stupid. Comprende?

@blunt:  HPV may start with H but it is almost nothing to worry about. I inquired about HPV vaccination at the same time I got Hep A & B shots but was told as a male at my age it really is not worth it. That stuff is most dangerous to female in their teens and 20s only. Nobody dies from syphilis anymore unless they live in the jungle of a third world country.

Treatable or not, if you are married it’s over.

Can you cite what you're talking about? I didn't see anything about Trump. I know you said quoting someone but that doesn't mean what they are saying scientifically or stat wise is wrong. Not sure where you were going with this. We're you going against people who were against the opposed to Trump or against the data in the article.

Harvey said "Funding cutbacks for prevention, education and healthcare programs, an on-going debate about sex education for young people, with cutbacks in that arena, particularly from this administration, and a rise in social media dating apps have all contributed to the rise."

________

The article is about a rise in STD rates in 2016, "this" administration began in 2017, and doesn't have an approved budget for 2018 yet meaning "this" administration hasn't cut anything.

This article quotes 2 specialist who's opinion of why STD's had a massive uptick in 2016 was a presidential budget for 2 years in the future and tinder.

I have a far more likely reason... hpv vaccines and teen access to birth control has lead to a generation having moresex, but not safer sex as riskier sex acts become more socially acceptable.

My generation grew up terrified we would die of aids if we had sex not covered in a full body latex suit and dripped in purrell. This lead to STD infection rates bottoming out and now we are seeing a generation on 12 kinds of birth control and not worried about any STD's doing everyone.

maybe I am right maybe I am wrong but I think my opinion has about as much chance of being correct as events that haven't happened and swipe right, and likely far more likely.

My teenager has no idea we immunized for HPV, so it won't change behavior.  My take is we should all immunize if a vaccine is available.  Why leave yourself exposed for moral/dogmatic reasons, life is too complicated to leave things up to chance.

And if rates are on the rise, the government needs to increase funding in this area so the problem can be addressed with an intelligent solution (inform/educate/immunize).

Reading comprehension challenged? where did I "try" to convince anyone? funny I wasn't talking to you yet you tell me to shut up. Maybe the one who should STFU is the busy body one sticking her ugly nose into somebody else's conversation?

First tell me to shut up then tell me to come up with new argument. Bi-polar schizoid personality much? or was it the meth talking?

FYI no new argument needed since we do what the hell we want to do WITHOUT justification or your permission. Now get over it and move on.
